2011 Deer Hunting Plan
This year, we need to identify places to hunt during the firearms season which are more accessible to Tim. Also, I intend to get a compound bow and take advantage of the full four month deer season.
Bow Season
This year, I want to try bow hunting. Mom has not sold her house, I will bow hunt there, since I can do so without alarming the neighbors. This area is apparently traveled by the herd that roams at the bottom of the bluff.
- Adjust bow sight
- Buy archery deer permit
- Check with deer processor
November Season
The so-called November portion of the season is November 11-22, which includes two weekends. If Tim takes off both Saturdays and Sundays, and I take off the Tuesdays and Wednesdays, that gives us 7 days within that season to hunt.
Tim and I will hunt public lands in the southern counties of Missouri. The areas I have picked out (not counting federal lands) are all 60 to 90 minutes away, so we won't rent a room to stay overnight. We will drive out early each morning and drive home each night.
