Bow Hunting

I want to try my hand at bow hunting. It will greatly expand my deer hunting opportunities, both the length of the season and the locations I can hunt.

In Missouri, the archery deer season is September 15 to January 15 (with restrictions during the regular firearms season). That's four months, or eighteen weekends out of the year that I can hunt deer in Missouri if I use a bow.

There are at least seventeen conservation areas within two hours of our house that allow deer hunting, but not with modern firearms. That's probably around 14,000 acres.

Equipment

Well, I ended up buying a youth bow to start with, because it turns out that I am a weakling. It is a Diamond Razor Edge. It is currently set up with a draw weight of 45 pounds, but it can be adjusted up to 60 pounds. I need to do some rowing exercises at the gym to build up my strength. My draw length is 28 inches.
